Halitosis (Bad Breath)
What is Halitosis?
Halitosis is common and is often a symptom of an underlying condition. Halitosis can be caused by gum & dental disease, laryngopharyngeal reflux, tonsil stones (tonsiliths), post-nasal drip or candida (thrush) of the tongue. Halitosis can also indicate mouth breathing in snoring/obstructive sleep apnoea or may be a sign of throat cancer.
What are the symptoms of halitosis?
Halitosis may be an isolated symptom or may be part of a number of symptoms associated with the underlying cause.
